The making of a new music video: Telling A Fib Remix

This past weekend, rapper Oya Obinidodo's new music video, 'Telling A Fib Remix' was filmed. The video is in the process of being edited before it will be released. Oya Obinidodo's' new underground rap hit, 'Telling a Fib Remix' has over 2 million plays on SoundCloud and is a single that is sure to leave it's mark in the rap game. The Virginia rapper raps about being alone and liking it.

"I'm not proud of where I was raised, but it's an environment that I've been forced to survive in." she stated.

'Telling A Fib Remix' is not at all a brag song. It's a street song. Oya Obinidodo also stated that she does not want to show any backstage footage, but has the patience to wait until a video is professionally edited.

"Patience is a virtue. I heard a rapper from ATL say that a long time ago. I don't have to rush to show the audience how I was looking in the video. They'll see in the end". She calmly said.

The video, which was filmed in one of the most dangerous cities in America, has inspired the creator to keep surviving instead of giving up.

"I already been to jail, I already tried to commit suicid* multiple times. At one point I even jumped out of a second story window and swallowed a bottle of pills but I'm still here. Even in the midst of the struggle and the prostitution that I've seen. I must be here for a reason and that reason is to take care of my responsibilities and warn others of the dangers in the community so they can stay alive too" Oya Obinidodo said, while sporting multiple Santa Muerte necklaces. It's obvious that she isn't going to let up off of Santa Muerte any time soon.

What's up with the Santa Muerte image?

Santa Muerte has been a apart of Oya Obinidodo's life for six years. She believes it has been what has saved her life and kept her out of jail. She also believes that Santa Muerte kept her out of Mexico and out of the danger of the cartels.

"Every since I started believing in Santa Muerte, I have stayed away from more trouble and prison. I can't go back." Oya Obinidodo said.

"I don't have to buy a bunch of statues and burn alot of candles. Santa Muerte lives within me. I don't believe it's bad at all. I've seen way worse than Santa Muerte."

Oya Obinidodo also mentioned that she wasn't going to let the gays and transexuals that worship Santa Muerte stop her from doing so.

"What do those gays have to do with me? Gays are Christians too and gays are Muslim. Is that going to stop a straight person from being Christian or Muslim? Absolutely not!" Rapper and writer Oya Obinidodo exclaimed.

"Gays do a lot of stuff that regular people do. They eat, sleep, and piss too. I can't stop doing that just because gay people do it." She said. She sounded like she was really adamant about getting her point across.

"Some stuff just can't be explained, and Santa Muerte is one of them, but just know, that Santa Muerte originated in Africa and Mexico. I am pure African. Enough said."

After the Richmond Virginia video shoot, the rapper was sure to pop some bottles of Rose` by herself- which is exactly what she said she would do in the song. Since the shoot, Oya Obinidodo has written another song, and is trying to come up with a title for a third studio solo hip hop album. One that stands out and has meaning and value.
