Introduction

Today, in this blog I will write about the expensive bear tours in Alaska, and an affordable Alaskan bear tour alternative. I will also talk the about the dangers of traveling on a safari, and how inspired I am by the Safaris in Tanzania and Kenya. If you want to learn more, keep reading.

A bear tour in Alaska

Grizzly Bears

A bear tour in Alaska is very expensive. First you have to fly over there or drive, catch a ferry from the west coast or take a bus - someway some how. After you get there, there are numerous tours that will take photographers and bear enthusiasts to see the bears of Alaska. Of course, Alaska has the most population of bears in the United States. The bear tours can cost thousands, but it is a dream of a lifetime.

While researching the bear tours, I discovered that Alaska is connected to Canada. For the entirety of my life, I didn't even know that. I never cared about where Alaska was located because I had no interest until just this year. I thought that Alaska was an island beneath California because that's where is it located on some of the old school United States maps. It's in the wrong place. If it's connected to Canada, then Canada needs to be on all U. S. Maps.

Anyways, I decided that I couldn't afford the bear tour, and decided to just buy a picture of a black bear off of Amazon.com instead, and hang it on my wall, because those tours costs thousands of dollars and there's no way around it unless you actually live in Alaska. I don't. I'm very far away from it. Besides, after doing more research to ease the pain of not being able to afford the trip, I found out that it's not all it's cracked up to be anyway.

Never Forget: Death will be in the air

People have died in Alaska chasing bears, like Timothy Treadwell. I was so touched and inspired by the story, I actually cried. Fishermen in Alaska die fast too. According to my research, fishermen in Alaska die once a week during crabbing season. I don't wanna fall in love with the Alaskan wilderness and lose my life out there in return. Plus, I've seen stories of people getting stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. They made it out alive, but me and my Labrador might not. It's dangerous out there, and it is bear country to the max.

I've also seen stories of people having fantasies about how great of a life they think it's going to be living off the free land and they found out that living off grid was much harder than they expected. I don't want to end up like that. There are all kinds of bears there- Black bears, Grizzly Bears, and the most dangerous of all - Polar Bears.

I'm pretty sure the hip hop scene in Alaska isn't for me either. I saw a video about gangs in Anchorage and I'm pretty sure they won't be happy to feel my precense. If people are funky towards me on the East Coast, then they'll be funky towards me in Alaska too. People treat me horrible everywhere I go, and they'll never change my perspective.

They're aren't going to like my music in Alaska. They are going to be sucking the skin off of my opps genitals. They're going to hate me, just like the rest of America. If you're thinking about traveling to Alaska, and feel like people might hate on you, don't just go, do your research before you do, it might just save your life. From now on, if I want to go to Alaska, I'll just go buy some Alaskan Salmon from the grocery store and watch Alaskan bears on TV.

Wildlife Refuge and the State Forest: Alaskan bear tour alternatives

Black Bears

Instead of going to Alaska and risking my life, I decided to find out if there is a bear tour on the east coast. I found one in North Carolina, but it was still pricey, costing over two grand for a four day wildlife safari, at SDM Adventures. I kept searching until I found a free thirty minute bear presentation in North Carolina, which is provided by the U.S. fish and wildlife service. It is located at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and runs every Wednesday at 5 pm starting June 5th, 2024.

I won't be attending any bear tours in North Carolina because well, North Carolina is one big disease infested territory to me, and I don't wanna drive near it. I might start throwing up or I might catch something just by looking at someone. If you don't have those problems, and you want to see bears in North Carolina, then maybe you should check out one of their tours! They'll like you more than me, I promise!

Bears are everywhere, but I haven't seen them yet

I've never seen a wild bear in real life before, but I know that they exist all around me. A few years ago, I booked a Safari tour through the Great Dismal Swamp on a few occasions, but I still did not see any black bears. The only thing I saw was a bald eagle, some turtles, monarch butterflies, and the last most recent animal I witnessed while hiking, was a red fox. I'm not taking anymore Great Dismal Swamp Safaris because I've seen all that I'm going to see. I moved on a long time ago.

I eventually went to a State Forest just last fall, and still did not see any black bears. All I saw was a loose foxhound dog, and I heard a lot of coyotes, which inspired me to write the song Coyotes Howling from my 2024 album 'The Ruff Owtdowz'. Coyotes Howling  is one of the most clean version songs I have ever written. There is no profanity or violence in it at all, but I still slapped a parental advisory sticker on the front. I didn't take an actual picture of the elk and the coyote on the front cover either, but maybe on the next safari tour I go on, I'll be able to capture my own real life photos. If I'm lucky, I might even capture a real black bear! If I'm even luckier, I can even capture a video with them without dying!

I eventually began to become more afraid of the bears while solo camping. It breaks my heart to know that bears live longer than dogs. Anyways, I know they're out there. If I see them, I want to see them the right way, not the wrong way. Sometimes people feed wild bears even though they aren't supposed to. I wouldn't be surprised if someone left a bucket of honey out there for them on purpose, thinking that they're going them a good deed. In reality, all they're going is destroying the ecosystem.

The wildebeest migration Safari tour

Wildebeest migration tour

I wanted to go on the wildebeest Safari tour in Tanzania and Kenya. I saw the migration on the National Geographic channel and I immediately was attracted to it. I was amazed at the number of wildebeest out there. It's millions of them. It looked so unreal and amazing on TV. I priced the tours, and they can start from $700 for a three day tour, and it can cost over $30,000 just to get a close up view while lodging inside of a luxury safari tent.

Unfortunately, it is just a dream for me. I can't pay for an international trip to Africa because it isn't safe and I do not have travel insurance or know anyone there. Besides, I don't have a service animal, so my animal can't ride with me in the coach inside of the airplane. If you don't have those barriers holding you back, and you want to go on an African Wildebeest Safari tour, maybe you should try it. If you go, let me know how it went in the comment section below.
