From Morning to Night: How I Made the Most of Yesterday and Today

Yesterday, I woke up around 8 Am to handle some "business". When I say handling "business", I'm not referring to anything illegal, I'm just referring to different personal errands that I don't want to disclose.

While I was handling my business, I met a guy. I gave him my number. He's around the same age as me and is a rapper, and judging from his Instagram, I share common interest with him. He's in a bunch of music videos and I asked him if he wanted to collaborate with me. He text me today to see what I was doing, and I replied "nothing". He should know by now that all I do is music and that I don't have a regular 9-5. Most people that have jobs brag about it within the first 5 minutes of knowing them. When you ask them what they're doing, they usually say "I have to work" and then the other person (usually me), asks "So what do you do for work?".

After that, I took my dog to the park and then picked up some fresh dog treats from the dog bakery. Then I brought a 200 ml bottle of Svedka from the liquor store. Yes, I know it's cheap, but according to Google, people still drink it, especially at budget friendly parties. I saved the bottle for later that night around 9:30 PM and then went to a local pub for some Friday night action. Now this local pub I'm referring to, I haven't been to in 5 years. There was live music playing and it was kinda full in the main area so I went to a different room inside the bar where there was another bar. I set up my tripod stand and realized that I didn't have my SD card inside my camcorder, so I decided to use my camera phone instead.

One thing I hate about my new phone is that the footage from my 4K camera won't play once I transfer it with the SD card reader. My old phone, which I still have, plays 4K footage. I just don't want to use it because it's too old. The footage on my new phone has to be in 1080p in order to play. I'm forced to get another phone after only having it for a month. It's not even paid for. I'm still making payments on it and the screen is still cracked but that's another story. I'm not going to buy another one until I pay it off. I think I'm going to go back to Apple. I haven't had an iPhone in 3 years. I've been using Android.

Anyways, I started taking photos for Instagram and this guy comes up to me and starts talking. I was actually surprised. I didn't think anyone would speak to me. He said that I had a pretty face and offered me a drink. I didn't take the drink. He offered me food instead and I accepted. I ordered a oyster platter, after checking online to see if the establishment was sanitary and the guy covered the check. Turns out, they were. They had zero health code violations so I went ahead and started eating after my order arrived. I was low-key hungry as hell. I talked to the guy for about 2 hours and then left. I fixed myself a drink with the vodka, mixed with tonic water, grenadine, and lemon juice. I don't have a name for it. I'll just call it a "Vodka Tonic". I then proceeded to engage in a 3 hour conversation with the man again.

The next day, I didn't hear from him. I'm sure I'll never hear from him again. I appreciated the meal though. That was the first time in 3 years that a man brought me a meal. The last time a man brought me something to eat was when I was on the westside of Chicago back in 2022. That's a red flag. Over the past three years, I've been offered drinks by random guys, but not food. That means these men rather see me drunk than fed. It's all good. I don't f*ck with locals anyway. I said that in my song "From Smokin Rocks".

Today, I cooked spicy spaghetti with toast. I had one more vodka tonic and a straight shot. I have one more shot left before the bottle is finished. I was going to go out after drinking, but these Uber and Lyft prices skyrocket at certain times of the day- especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Around 3-7 pm, today and yesterday, I looked up a ride to a tattoo shop that's only 25 minutes away and it was $98 for one way and that was with a 50% off two rides promo code.

Now you know I have to complain about something. Nothing's ever perfect. There's no way in hell I'm paying that much for a damn ride. That's insane. I decided not to get a tattoo. I can't get a tattoo sober. It's too painful. I have to have a drink to numb the pain. Tonight around 9:30 pm, when I looked up the prices on Uber and Lyft, they were much cheaper than they were earlier. The cost was actually $30 one way. A far cry from the $98 prices earlier. The prices always vary and can be shocking if you don't carefully plan your trip. Unfortunately, 9:30 pm is too late in the evening for a tattoo shop, as most of them close at 10 pm.
