Taking the Leap into Acting and Facing New Challenges

When life takes unexpected turns, it often leads to new opportunities. Recently, I found myself at a crossroads when my music was pulled from streaming platforms. With this unexpected change, I decided to shift my focus and delve into my long-standing passion for acting. 

To take the first step, I created a talent profile on Backstage, a platform dedicated to connecting actors with casting calls. I also explored local resources, such as the Virginia casting call website. It was here that I caught my first break—I landed the role of an extra in the upcoming film "Shattered Trust," (produced by KayP Unscripted Productions) which is set to begin filming in May. Although this is a non-paid role, I see it as an invaluable opportunity to get my foot in the door. Networking on set and fully immersing myself in the experience could prove essential for my future ambitions in the industry. Who knows? This could be the first step towards landing a major role down the line.

On a different front, I’ve encountered some unsettling news regarding my books. Barnes & Noble has recently revised its policies, and there’s a possibility that my works may be removed from their platform. I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen, as I value the exposure that Barnes & Noble provides. However, if my books do end up being unavailable there, I want to assure my readers that they will still be accessible on Amazon. I understand that these changes can be disconcerting, but I am committed to ensuring that my work remains available to those who want to read it.

As I embark on this acting journey and navigate these challenges with my writing, I remain hopeful and excited about what the future holds. Stay tuned for updates as I continue to share my experiences and progress on this path!
