I just had a little staycation in Virginia Beach, and I can't wait to share my experience with you all. Sometimes, a mini getaway is exactly what you need to recharge your batteries without the hassle of flying or driving too far.
I kicked off my visit by checking into a cozy hotel right near the beach. The ocean breeze was refreshing, and I felt the stress of everyday life begin to wash away the moment I stepped into my room. After settling in, I hit the famous boardwalk, which is always bustling with energy.
There’s something incredibly nostalgic about boardwalks—carnival games, bright lights, and the smell of funnel cakes in the air. I couldn’t resist a few games! I tried my luck at one of them and managed to snag a tiny stuffed animal—victory!
Once I worked up an appetite, I dove into some delicious birria tacos. If you haven’t tried these yet, you’re missing out. The flavor was on point, and I genuinely think I could eat them every day. After that savory delight, I decided to indulge my sweet tooth with a strawberry funnel cake. It was everything you hope for in a funnel cake—crispy, warm, and topped with a mountain of strawberries and powdered sugar. Pure bliss!
And here’s something different for me: I stayed sober throughout the day. It’s surprisingly refreshing to enjoy the vibes and the fantastic food without any drinks. I felt more in touch with everything happening around me, soaking up the sights, sounds, and even the tastes in a whole new way.
All in all, my staycation was the perfect mix of fun, relaxation, and delicious food. Sometimes, you don’t need to go far to have a great time! If you’re looking for a place to unwind and feel that summer vibe, I highly recommend giving Virginia Beach a spin.
